Syracuse, NY - October 19, 2006 - Green & Seifter, Certified Public Accountants, PLLC along with local accounting firms, sponsored the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants Annual Student Award Dinner held at Le Moyne College. Rick Shaw, CPA and President of the Syracuse Chapter of NYSSCPAs was the master of ceremonies. Terrence W. McCarthy, CPA, CFE spoke about fraud and Thomas E. Riley, CPA, PFS of TFG CPAs spoke about a career in accounting. Students were awarded Academic Achievement Award based on their grade point average and the Career Preparation Award, based on extracurricular activities such as internships and community service. 

Award winners were: Syracuse University-Academic Achievement, Lisa Cahill and Elizabeth Hickey; Career Preparation, Alexa Ferigua and Terese Sawicki;  SUNY Oswego - Academic Achievement, Robert Bloom and Corey Dippel; Career Preparation, John J. Kindon III and Daniel Grabowski; Le Moyne College - Academic Achievement, Nichole Hogan; Career Preparation, Garret Bilow; Clarkson University, Academic Achievement, Kurt West; Career Preparation, Megan Hazen.
